File search assistant is immediately removed from my system by panda antivirus after scan as virus ??

Had hand on this product found really nice. I am a developer. I will really like to hear if they have something similar to this which can search for words from database too.

Senior Technical Consultant I have been testing it with MS Word Files and like the Keyword context shown in the lower pane. I have not become totally fimilar with all of the features yet and the benefits of creating a searchable index. My next activity is to use PDF files as the target. It did its job I needed a tool to search a file in the Windows cabinet files, and Cool Find did it. However, for this seldom needed task, the price of Cool Find seems to high for me to purchase it.

Sadly it appears to be MS only. It would be nice to make this clearer. Apple's textutil program seems to have stopped allowing conversion of PDF to text.

the only problem is that I had to convert a pdf hebrew file into text and it didn't recognize the caracters so it wasn't useful for me but I am sure that with latin caracters it works finethank You for giving me the chance to let You know

need command line interface I need a command line interface for what i am trying to accomplish, and i was unable to determine if your pdf2text had one (no documentation, and the tool behaved the same whether parameters were passed on the command line or not -- a GUI popup appears). That being the case, this tool is not helpful for my specific task.

I downloaded this software to open a Taxcut file. I was not successful. I appreciate the free trial download. I would have purchased this software had it met my need. Taxcut files are virtually impossible to open without using TaxCut software.

I couldn\'t get it to work with Windows 7 so don\'t know much about the product. It never opened.

PDF2TXT was a life saver for me! I needed to extract text from PDF reports to load data into a database to produce statistical reports. The Adobe save to text file function was wrapping and folding the tabular data unpredictably in the output. Not only did PDF2TXT cleanly convert all the data into tabular text, it did it fast, and conveniently batch processed multiple files. I made my deadline thanks to PDF2TXT!

Works Great. I'm using pdf2txt to convert a pdf document on the fly from a vbscript by executing a shell command. Works flawlessly!

I actually wasn`t able to use it very much. I had to format my computer and found a 'codec' that does the conversion for free and that's all I needed. But it did work well! Thanks.

Best in class. I have reviewed several other .pdf search programs, which were all pretty much useless. (the sleuthhound, effective search, and instant document search) Pdf search was the only one that could search within .pdf files effectively. I haven't tried to use it on compressed .pdf yet (that I know of), but it did find all the specific numeric amounts (140. 00, 12. 00, etc.) in the downloaded .pdf statements from my bank. Slick Interface I liked this file searcher. It does almost all of what I want it to do. The interface is very windows like, so its easy to understand and use. The only thing that it is deficient on is the file viewer. This could be resolved by allowing the user to select the viewer (I would use my favorite text editor). Or give the options on a right click menu. It would be great to highlight all files, right click and say open with my favorite text editor and they would all go into, say Ultraedit, as a tabbed display of ...

Seeker works fine Seeker search utility worked fine, and was able to search within word documents, which was the main reason I downloaded it.

An improvement to Windows search Seeker seems to be build on the top of Window search and add a few new features like replace

Nice tool. I needed a commandline tool to use with SMS/SCCM to change a string in a ini file to use an environment variable. This was great but not what I was needing.
